We are seeking Wind Turbine Technicians at the Basic Technician, Maintenance

Technician, and Troubleshooter Technician levels to support wind farm operations

across Canada.

This opportunity is ideal for technicians looking to join a growing team focused on

safety, quality, and operational excellence. Successful candidates will perform

maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting activities on utility-scale wind

turbines while supporting Canada’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Please Note: The majority of assignments will support Siemens Gamesa wind turbine

fleets across Canada. Technicians with Siemens Gamesa experience are strongly

encouraged to apply and will receive priority consideration. Equivalent experience on

Vestas, GE, Nordex, Enercon, Senvion, or other utility-scale wind turbine platforms will

also be considered.

Position Levels

1. Service Basic Technician

The Basic Technician supports maintenance and repair activities under the supervision

of qualified technicians. This role is designed for individuals developing their technical

competencies through structured training and on-the-job experience. Basic Technicians

assist with service activities, follow approved work instructions, maintain documentation,

and adhere to all safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance and troubleshooting teams with turbine service activities.
• Follow all site safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform authorized tasks in accordance with approved work instructions.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Report safety concerns, equipment deficiencies, and technical issues.
• Participate in required technical and safety training programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical, electrical, industrial, construction, military, or renewable energy experience preferred.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Willingness to travel and work rotational schedules as required.

2. Service Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technicians perform scheduled turbine maintenance and routine repairs

while providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced technicians. These

employees are recognized as competent people for service activities on approved

turbine platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled turbine maintenance independently.
• Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), stop, and start procedures.
• Complete annual, semi-annual, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Lead small maintenance crews on service campaigns.
• Replace defective components using approved procedures.
• Train and mentor Basic Technicians.
• Support retrofits, component replacements, and special projects.
• Maintain service records and inspection reports.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous wind turbine maintenance experience.
• Experience performing preventive or scheduled maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and maintenance manuals.
• Leadership experience is considered an asset.

3. Troubleshooter Technician

Troubleshooter Technicians provide advanced technical expertise and lead fault-finding

activities on wind turbine systems. These professionals diagnose complex electrical,

hydraulic, mechanical, control, and communication issues while supporting technician

development and turbine reliability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex turbine faults.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and major component issues.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, SCADA, and control systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead troubleshooting teams and coordinate technical response activities.
• Mentor Maintenance and Basic Technicians.
• Produce detailed service, troubleshooting, and corrective action reports.
• Support commissioning, performance improvement, and reliability initiatives.

Maintenance Technician

Troubleshooter Technician

• Extensive wind turbine maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
• Experience interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and control logic.
• SCADA and turbine controller experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and solve complex field issues.

• First Aid
• GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)
• Electrical

• OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training
• LOTO Training
• Wind Electrical Safety Awareness (WESA) or NFPA 70E equivalent
• Crane & Chain Hoist Training
• Rigging Safety Training
• Advanced Rescue Training
• Platform-specific turbine training and competency assessments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb wind turbines daily.
• Ability to work at heights exceeding 80 m.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 23 kg.
• Ability to work in remote locations and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to travel throughout Canada as required.
